The initiative aims to help eligible households overcome the upfront costs of improving their homes, from installing solar panels and batteries to upgrading heating, cooling and hot water systems.

Up to $15,000 in Zero-Interest Loans

Eligible NSW homeowners can now apply for a zero-interest loan of up to $15,000, with repayment terms of up to 10 years.

To qualify, applicants must meet requirements including a combined taxable household income of no more than $210,000 per year, property ownership and relevant residency and finance-provider criteria.

The loans are available through participating providers Brighte and Plenti, with approved suppliers delivering eligible home energy upgrades.

Depending on the provider and product eligibility, homeowners may use the financing towards upgrades such as solar panels, battery storage, heat pump hot water systems, reverse-cycle heating and cooling, EV chargers and other approved improvements.

Additional Discounts of Up to $4,000 Coming Soon

The Home Energy Saver program also includes an upcoming discount of up to $4,000 for eligible households.

This additional support is intended for households with a combined gross income of up to $80,000 annually or an eligible concession card.

Households meeting both sets of eligibility requirements may be able to combine the discount with a zero-interest loan, further reducing the upfront financial burden.
