Solar batteries

Bank the sun.
Spend it after dark.

What a battery does

Power locked in for the night shift.

Solar makes the most power in the middle of the day, when a lot of homes are empty. A battery stores what you don’t use.

Then in the evening, when the lights, telly and cooking all kick in, your home runs on that stored solar power instead of the grid.

Why add a battery?

Use more of your own power

Keep the solar you make, instead of selling it back cheap.

Less reliance on the grid at peak times

Run on your own power when grid electricity costs the most.

Lights stay on in a blackout

Grid goes down? Not every battery can keep the lights on, but we install ones that can. With backup set up, the essentials keep running.

To store solar power, yes. Already have solar? We can usually add a battery to your existing system. Getting solar now? We can install both together, or size your solar so a battery is easy to add later.

It depends on how much power you use in the evening and how much solar you make. We work out the right size in your free assessment.

A battery stores the solar you don’t use during the day, so your home can run on it in the evening instead of buying power from the grid. How much you save depends on how much solar you send back to the grid now and how much power you use at night. If your feed-in tariff is low, a battery lets you keep more of your own power. We’ll show you the numbers in your free assessment.

Most homes get an upfront discount through the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program. It can take around 25 to 35% off the cost of an eligible battery, depending on its size and the certificate value when it’s installed. The Victorian Solar Homes battery rebate is closed to new applicants. We check what you’re eligible for before you commit.

No. We work out your discount, take it off your quote upfront and handle the certificate paperwork for you. We may just ask you for a few details.

The battery needs to be new, on the approved list and installed by an accredited installer to meet the program rules. We only quote eligible systems, and we confirm everything before you go ahead.

Only if it’s set up for backup power. Not every battery can do it, but we install systems that can. If keeping the lights on matters to you, tell us and we’ll build it into your system.

10 years on the battery and 10 years on our workmanship, covering parts, labour and any damage to your property. We also guarantee your battery will still give you at least 70% of its usable capacity after 10 years.

It depends on your home and the system you choose. We’ll confirm your install date once your assessment and quote are done. Our A-grade electricians work efficiently and leave your place tidier than they found it.

No. With our repayment plan you can get a battery for $0 upfront.

We don’t install and disappear. Your battery is monitored live, so we’re told straight away if there’s a fault and can fix it remotely or organise a visit. We run a health check at 12 months, and we service your system for free at 2 years.
